Heinz History Center

With your library card, you can get FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to the Heinz History Center!

The Heinz History Center is one of Pittsburgh's oldest cultural organizations. An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, the museum contains six floors of long-term and changing exhibits with hands-on activities, as well as a multitude of events and programs.

In addition to the Heinz History Center, your ticket also provides access to Fort Pitt Museum and Meadowcroft!

Fort Pitt Museum

With your library card, you can get FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to the Fort Pitt Museum!

The Fort Pitt Museum tells the story of Western Pennsylvania's vital role during the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. Through interactive exhibits, life-like historical figures and artifacts, visitors can discover the important role that our region played in shaping the country and about daily life of 18th century residents.

Meadowcroft

With your library card, you can get FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to Meadowcroft Rockshelter & Historic Village!

At this National Historic Landmark, visitors can investigate archeology from 19,000 years ago; travel 400 years into the past to explore a re-created 16th century Indian village; explore an 18th century frontier trading post; and visit a 19th century rural village while learning from re-enactors dressed in period costumes and from living history demonstrations.

Lincoln Highway Experience

With your library card, you can get FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to the Lincoln Highway Experience!

Begin your journey on the Lincoln Highway at this historic museum. View authentic artifacts, including a 1937 Packard automobile, a 1938 restored Serro's Diner, a 1939 Tourist Cabin and Filling Station with restored gas pumps.

Plus, you'll get to end your visit by enjoying a piece of pie and cup of coffee (or alternate beverage) inside the Diner!

Quecreek Mine Rescue Site

With your library card, you can get FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to the Quecreek Mine Rescue Site!

The Quecreek Mine Rescue took place in Somerset County, PA, when nine miners were trapped underground from July 24-28, 2002. Visit the Educational Visitors Center to learn more about those harrowing four days, and pay homage to the Monument for Life built to honor rescue workers and to serve as a tribute to coal miners.

PA Trolley Museum

The trolley played a vital role in the growth of 20th century American cities. Learn about this unique method of transportation, explore the collection of nearly 50 trolleys, and take your own ride on a historic streetcar!

The Passavant House

Step back in time by visiting the Zelienople Historical Society's Passavant House!

The second oldest house in Zelienople, the Passavant House was built in 1808 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It features artifacts and memorabilia of the Passavant family and the town's historic past, including a collection of furniture, clothing, and personal and household items dating back to the early 1800's.

McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center

Discover the history of McKeesport and the Mon Valley! 

Learn about some amazing McKeesport-natives, such as Helen Richey (the first woman hired as a pilot by a commercial airline in the U.S.) and Bette Ford (an acclaimed female bullfighter). Plus, experience the first one-room schoolhouse in McKeesport, from 1832.

Vicary Mansion

The Vicary Mansion was built overlooking the Ohio River in 1829 by Captain William Vicary, a retired Philadelphia merchant sea captain and land speculator. On Vicary Day, a series of authentically historic classes are offered to teach the crafts of the past, such as weaving, spinning, lacemaking, quilting, woodcutting and gardening. With many educational and entertaining programs, the Vicary Mansion is a beehive of activity!
