In order to provide Internet services to patrons outside of the Library building, the Library lends mobile Wi-Fi hotspots. A Wi-Fi hotspot is a device that can be used to connect a mobile-enabled device, such as a laptop, smartphone or tablet, to the Internet. The hotspot is portable and can be connected to your device wherever Internet services are available. One hotspot can provide internet access for up to 15 devices.
Using the Hotspot
Charge the Battery. Insert the small end of the USB cord into the micro-USB charging on the right side of the hotspot. Plug the charging adaptor into a standard AC power outlet.
It normally takes 3~5 hours, depending your power sources and device status to fully charge the battery.
Battery life depends on the network, signal strength, temperature, features, and active connection time.
When charging, keep your device near room temperature.
Power up the Hotspot. To turn the hotspot on or off, press and hold the Power Button on the front of the device for at least two seconds.
Connect the Hotspot. Open the Wifi application or settings on the device that you want to connect to the hotspot. Find the hotspot name and enter the password to connect.
